What role do the Two Witnesses serve?

They are God’s final public testimony against the counterfeit. They remain within the conflict, preach with authority, are killed by the beast, and are raised before the watching world. Their ministry demonstrates faithful witness rather than escape from tribulation. Where Scripture supports it: Revelation 11 gives two witnesses 1,260 days, calls them olive trees and candlesticks, permits the beast to kill them only after their work, and shows their public resurrection before the seventh trumpet. Zechariah 4 supplies the olive-tree background. Why it matters: They are the final visible contradiction to the false system and demonstrate that God equips testimony inside tribulation rather than removing every servant from it.
