Revelation 11 gives two witnesses 1,260 days to prophesy. It calls them the two olive trees and two candlesticks standing before the God of the Earth, language that reaches back to Zechariah 4. The beast makes war against them, kills them, and the world celebrates their death. After three and a half days, God raises them and they ascend as their enemies watch.

How I understand it

I understand the Two Witnesses as God’s final public testimony during Satan’s appearance as the false Christ. Christ also says that servants delivered before rulers must not premeditate, because the Holy Spirit will speak. Peter identifies Pentecost with Joel’s promise, and every hearer at Pentecost understands in a native language or dialect. Call My G reads that event as a preview of the election’s final testimony. That connection is a cumulative prophetic synthesis; no single verse states every part of it or describes the future event’s exact audible mechanism. The witnesses are not removed from tribulation; they demonstrate how God’s servants stand within it until their work is finished.

What you should examine

Compare the 1,260 days, forty-two months, and three-and-a-half-year periods throughout Daniel and Revelation. Study the two olive trees in Zechariah 4. Then compare Acts 2 with Joel 2, Mark 13, Luke 12, and Paul’s requirements for intelligible, orderly public speech in 1 Corinthians 14. Trace what happens at the sixth seal, sixth trumpet, and sixth vial, and ask how the witnesses’ ministry and the delivered-up testimony fit that sequence.
